A number of traffic diversions will be in place for the Ulster Senior Football Championship Final between Donegal and Derry at St. Tiernach’s Park, Clones at 4pm.
Gardai in the Cavan Monaghan Division have advised there will also be a number of road closures in place in and around the town.
All road closures will be in place from 11:30am until after the match.
– Fermanagh Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
– Churchill to Millbrook (save for local access )
– River lane and Roslea Road will be restricted to match traffic only
Please note that no vehicles will be permitted to leave O’Neill Park for 40 minutes after the final whistle. This is to facilitate the safe passage of pedestrians from St. Tiernach’s Park.
Gardai also request that HGVs travelling from Cavan to Monaghan or vice versa avoid the N54 and travel via Cootehill.
The town and surrounding roads will experience large volumes of traffic and anybody considering travelling through the town of Clones is advised to consider an alternative route to their destination.
Members of an Garda Siochana will be on hand to assist with traffic flow.
“Please if you are attending, allow plenty of time for your journey so you can arrive in good time,” a garda spokesperson said.
“An Garda Siochana wishes everyone attending a safe and enjoyable day and we thank you for your cooperation and patience in advance.”
