A Judge has issued a bench warrant for a man due to stand trial for the alleged possession of child pornography.
Donard McLarnon failed to appear at the current sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court where he was due to be arraigned.
McLarnon’s barrister, Shane Costello, SC, said they had not heard from McLarnon for approximately a month but that he had appeared on all other occasions.
Mr Costello said he had learned that McLarnon had since become homeless and he understood that the accused was living out of his car.
The 51-year-old accused had been living at Cuan na Tira, Kerrykeel but had since left that address.
McLarnon is charged with having images of child pornography on his iPhone 6 mobile phone.
Judge John Aylmer agreed to issue a bench warrant but asked Gardai to use their discretion when making the arrest.
