Max McRae will be the next on the list of the famous McRae name to partake in the Donegal International Rally next month.
Max comes from a line of brilliant rally drivers, including his dad Alistair, his uncle Colin, and his grandfather Jimmy.
The 17-year-old will be flying over from Australia to compete in Ireland and the UK this summer, beginning with the Donegal International Rally, followed by the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the McRae event at Knockhill and the Nicky Grist Stages in Wales.
Max, who competes in the Australian Rally Championship in a production Subaru with co-driver Mac Keirans from Monaghan, will take on the famous Donegal track in his Ford Fiesta Rally4.
McRae told Dirtfish.com: “I’ve grown up listening to Dad’s stories about Donegal and I just can’t wait to get over there and have a go for myself.
“I’ve watched some of the onboards on YouTube and the stages look amazing.”
Max will be hoping to emulate his grandfather Jimmy’s success, who won the 1980 Donegal International Rally.
