Brave Donegal hurlers just missed out on another All-Ireland Final appearance in Croke Park after going down to rivals Tyrone this evening in Carrickmore.
Tyrone : 1-23 (26)
Donegal 1-19 (22)
It was a classic ‘winner takes all’ game against the men from the O‘Neill county.
In fact, a draw would have been enough to send Donegal through as they were one point ahead of Tyrone going into today’s game – the final round of games.
The top two in the table advance to the Nicky Rackard Final in Croke Park.
Top of the table Roscommon were expected winners over Fermanagh and moved onto nine points to clinch a final spot.
That left Donegal and Tyrone to battle it out to see who will join them at headquarters.
Richie Ryan levelled in the final ten minutes to leave the score at 1-18 (21) apiece.
However, in four minutes of added time, Tyrone had more in the tank to run out eventual winners on a 1-23(26) to 1-19 (22) scoreline.
Tyrone now march on to meet The Rosses at Headquarters.
