ANOTHER legendary actor has joined a film shoot in south west Donegal, much to the delight of local fans.
Colm Meaney has been spotted in Glencolmcille this week as he begins filming alongside Liam Neeson on the big budget blockbuster ‘In the Land of Saints and Sinners’.
Delighted fans and extras have enjoyed meeting Meaney in recent days and getting snaps with ‘The Snapper’ star.
Meaney was also spotted by locals at the famous Silver Strand beach in Malin Beg. He stopped by The Banks Restaurant in Strabane on Monday on his way to join the cast and crew in Donegal.
The Dubliner, who has had acclaimed performances in Star Trek and The Snapper, adds even more star quality to the Donegal film production.
Oscar Nominee Ciaran Hinds (Belfast) also heads up the impressive cast list, which includes Kerry Condon (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Sarah Greene (Normal People) and Jack Gleeson (Game Of Thrones).
Set in the 1970s in a remote Irish village, In the Land of Saints and Sinners follows a newly retired assassin who finds himself drawn into a lethal game of cat and mouse with a trio of vengeful terrorists. The film sees Neeson reunited with The Marksman director Robert Lorenz.
Filming has been taking place in locations across south Donegal such as Glencolmcille, Ardara and Kilcar.
Netflix has already snapped up the film for UK and Irish audiences.
