Ten brave hikers were treated to an amazing sunrise when they scaled Errigal Mountain for Pieta on Saturday morning.
Setting off at 3.30am, Brendan Goyvaerts, Charlie Doherty and friends were blessed with great views all the way to the top.
Brendan and Charlie, both from Letterkenny, climb Errigal once a month for Pieta.
They set up a Facebook fundraiser and to date have raised just over €1200. As the fundraiser’s time limit ran out, they decided to invite friends to do Darkness Into Light on May 7th. Pals from Manor, Milford and Lifford joined the special hike.
Brendan said: “We will be opening a new fundraiser on Facebook in time for June’s climb and would love if everyone could keep an eye out for the page and join us on a climb or donate throughout the year.”
The Darkness into Light fundraiser saw over 115,000 people take part in group walks, runs and even swims in over 200 locations across ten countries to help support Pieta’s suicide intervention, counselling and bereavement services.
