With many Letterkenny Athletic Club runners recovering from the North West 10K and preparing for the upcoming Inter Firms 5K, this was a quiet week in relation to competitive action.
Two runners travelled to southern Donegal on Friday evening for the popular and well organised Ballyshannon 5K. In-form Darren Price was the leading M40 runner in a time of 17.07. He was 7th overall. His time represented a PB. Barry Mackey was delighted to turn in a sub 20 minute performance of 19.41. The race winner was John Travers, Donore Harriers, in a very fast time of 14.26.
John Anthony Mullen was a top 10 finisher, and the leading M55 runner, in Saturday morning’s Letterkenny parkrun. John Anthony’s time was 24.02. Parkrun regular, John Doherty, crossed the line in 27.03. This was John’s 40th parkrun. The leading runner was Sean Wilson, Acorns AC, in 21.00.
The very popular Letterkenny AC Inter Firms’ 5K will be held on Wednesday May 11th. The start time is 7.30pm and registration is online. Letterkenny Athletic Club is very grateful to Hickey, Clarke and Langan, Insurance Brokers, for their continued and generous sponsorship of the event.
