An amazing example of ancient rock art has been discovered in a field in Inishowen.
Special permission to visit the site was given by the landowner to the team at Inishowen Heritage and the site has been recorded with the National Monument Service.
It is now awaiting publication.
A spokesperson for Inishowen Heritage said more and more rock art discoveries are being made across the peninsula.
A spokesperson said “A local land owner had heard about other discoveries and our (Inishowen Heritage) recording of rock art efforts on the Isle of Doagh and all around Inishowen. We’ve been researching and recording for many years now.
“We’ve had some wonderful clear skies so we revisited in an effort to light the rock art and illuminate the carvings further.
“Inishowen really is set to become Ireland’s premier location for ancient Irish Neolithic rock are as the group is discovering more and more unrecorded finds.”
