There is disappointment in Bundoran after the announcement that Waterworld Bundoran & Bundoran Seaweed Baths will not be opening as planned this Easter.
The popular aqua playground has been closed for two years during the pandemic, but owners have said that storm damage and a shortage of staff have given them no choice but to remain closed.
The facility was scheduled to reopen this Saturday, 9th April.
In a statement to customers, management said that the Whizzer tower was damaged in a recent storm, but there is a shortage of materials. They also said they could not find enough suitably qualified staff, despite a recent recruitment campaign.
“The team regrets the disappointment that this will cause to our loyal guests who we know were looking forward to returning to Waterworld & Bundoran Seaweed Baths however the safety and comfort of our guests is the highest of our priorities and we will not compromise on this.”
Customers have been advised to keep an eye on Waterworld’s social media for further updates on opening dates.
