Hollywood actress Roma Downey has been shining a light on the beauty of Donegal this week during her time Ireland.
The Derry actress, author and producer’s visit home was a bittersweet one, as it began with the funeral of much-loved local priest, Father Paddy O’Kane, who was born in Culdaff. Roma travelled back to Ireland for the first time in three years to attend the funeral of her ‘dear friend’ and deliver a reading.
After a week of ‘mixed emotions’, she took some time to rest in Donegal, showing that there’s no place like home.
In recent days, Roma has shared both fun and thoughtful photos from Downings and the Wild Atlantic Way with her one million social media followers. Roma and her daughter Reilly had great adventures at Tra na Rossan beach, Glenveagh National Park, and a trad session in the Harbour Bar.
