A fundraiser has been set up for a local family who lost everything in a house fire yesterday.

Fire ripped through the home of the Tinney family in Colehill, Newtowncunningham on Monday.

The devastated family have been left with only the clothes on their backs.

The community of Newtown has since rallied together to give immediate aid to Alan and his family as they deal with the aftermath of the fire.

Cllr Paul Canning set up a GoFundMe page to support the Tinneys in their hour of need.

He said: “We would like to help them as much as we can to get them back on their feet. Any donations is very much appreciated.”
