Ollie Horgan is again calling on the Finn Harps faithful to get behind the team in what is a massive eight days in shaping his sides season.
Finn Park will host three Premier Division games starting tonight as Shamrock Rovers visit, followed by the quick turnaround to Drogheda United on Monday.
Next Saturday then sees the first North West Derby in Ballybofey this season when Derry make the short trip.
“We’re going to need our supporters to get right behind us. To be fair, the day we played against St. Pats, the support was brilliant.
“We went one nil down and they backed us to the hilt and that’s what we need in all three games this week.”
Finn Harps will first take on the 2021 and 2020 Premier Division champions in Shamrock Rovers tonight.
In what will as always be a tough game, Harps will hope to have a repeat of last season’s 2-1 victory over the champions, as Jordan Mustoe opened the scoring before an Adam Foley own goal drew Rovers level.
Tunde Owolabi then scored the winner with just a couple of minutes to go in the game as Ollie Horgan’s side completed a famous win over The Hoops, their first since 2008.
Harps currently sit in 9th place with five points after six games, but will be boosted by the emphatic 3-0 win over Shelbourne at Tolka Park with goals from Ethan Boyle, Conor Tourish and Eric McWoods.
Shamrock Rovers meanwhile haven’t enjoyed as successful a start to the season as they have in recent years as they sit in 4th place, picking up 11 points from their opening seven games, including away losses to Derry and St. Pats who are both ahead of Stephen Bradley’s side in the table.
Harps will be missing Ryan Connolly, who is suspended for one match, having picked up five yellow cards.
Kick-off at Finn Park tonight is 8pm and can be streamed via loitv.ie.
