Four extraordinary places to stay in Donegal have earned a place on an influential staycation list this year.
The Irish Independent’s ‘Fab 50’ list is a go-to guide for holidaymakers seeking something different, whether it’s a cantilevered shipping container, a former Army barracks turned luxury hotel, or a beachfront cottage with aurora borealis views.
Donegal has it all, but four accommodations have caught the attention of travel journalists to make it to the Top 50.
The local places getting a boost this year are Rockhill House outside Letterkenny in 10th place, Twig & Heather Cottage at Fort Dunree, Inishowen at number 32, Ballyliffin Townhouse & Spa at number 46 and Wild Atlantic Camp in Creeslough at number 48.
Commenting on the recognition, Cathal Doherty, Ballyliffin TownHouse Hotel & Spa said: “We’re delighted to feature in the #IndoFab50 over the weekend, not only for us but to shine a light on the overall tourism offering in the Inishowen region and the Wild Atlantic Way. It’s a great boost to kick-start the season. We’ve started to see a trend for visitors looking for a boutique and personal touch, and that’s exactly what we do here at the Ballyliffin TownHouse Hotel & Tess Rose Ocean Spa. Big thanks to all our hard-working team for their continue support and dedication.”
