Exciting works are underway in the Drumholm Parish in Ballintra to restore two windows that have not seen light for 70 years.
Two windows overlooking the sanctuary at St Brigid’s Church have been hidden for a lifetime, but they will soon be restored to their former glory with the support of parishioners.
A fundraiser is underway to fund the installation of two new stained glass windows in the empty spaces. St Brigid’s is celebrating 175 yrs since the foundation stones were originally laid, and the Church was completed in 1845. To mark the milestone, the local committee decided to bring the Church back to its original design.
A GoFundMe has been set up to fund the window restorations, to re-paint the complete interior of the church and fit additional lighting to the Sanctuary Area. The design of the windows will be in keeping with the original design.
Parishioners and anyone with a connection to the parish are being asked to support the fund at: https://gofund.me/0e0387a8
