Teen Photography Class
Teen photography class starts Tuesday 15th March from 6.30PM – 7.30PM at the Family Resource Centre.
Suitable for 1st year and up. Enjoy the art of photography through demos, printouts and fun filled activities.
Learn about Exposure: ISO shutter speed/aperture, basic camera settings, Composition, lighting/posing & careers in photography.
Participants do not need to bring a camera but they can if they want too!

Men on the Move
Want to start exercising! Want to get fitter and have more energy!
We are looking for men age 18+ to take part in a Men on the Move programme with Donegal Sports Partnership.
Two evenings per week, 1 hour each evening, 30 minutes walking followed by 30 minutes light exercise, if you would like to take part please contact Marie on 0749145796/0873641503 or email info@raphoefrc.ie.

Paediatric First Aid
Paediatric first aid will take place on the 15th and 22nd of March from 6PM-9:30PM. Cost is €20.00.

SafeTALK
SafeTALK training is a 3hr workshop that prepares individuals to recognise and engage with people who may be having thoughts of suicide and how to connect them to suicide first aid resource.
SafeTALK training will be in the Suile Hall, The Diamond, Raphoe on Tuesday the 10th of May from 7pm-10pm.

Mindful Meditation with Owen Donnelly
Delighted to say Owen Donnelly continues with his Mindful Meditation Class on Monday nights at 6pm via Zoom.
Mindfulness is one strategy that can reduce stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness is a way of being. Practicing mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the moment and accepting those experiences and feelings without judgement.

Community Garda Drop in clinic
The community Garda Drop in clinic taking place in the Family Resource Centre on Tuesday the 22nd of March from 6pm to 7pm.
If you need forms/passports signed/stamped or information and guidance feel free to call in. No appointment needed.
Breakout Raphoe
Starting back Thursday 3rd February 2022 from 4 – 6PM in the Family Resource Centre and every second Thursday night thereafter.

Little Smiles with Big Dreams Baby & Toddler Group
Baby and toddlers are now back running every Wednesday morning in the Suile Hall from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Light snacks will be provided for the kids and a cup of tea for the adults.
Cost is €2 per family. There are no space restrictions in place. Everyone is welcome,
St Marys GAA
Winner of €235 this week’s 50/50 is Helena Prunty Convoy.
Tickets can be purchased in local shops, revolut and PayPal.
Training for underage starts back this Friday from 6.30 to 7.30.
Registration is now open and can be done through Foireann.
Registration forms are also available at clubhouse.

ALONE
ALONE is an organisation that enables older people to age at home.
They recruit, train and support Volunteers for our Telephone Support and the Visitation and Befriending Service, which is where a volunteer gives an hour a week of their time to provide companionship to an Older Person either in person, or over the phone.
ALONE currently have many older people across Donegal in need of our services.
Would you be willing to provide companionship or be able to make calls to Older People once a week?
ALONE are seeking volunteers all over Donegal. Full training and support provided.

Raphoe Boxing Club
The boxers, coaches and officials of the local boxing club would like to tender a very sincere thank you, to everyone at the local indoor football squad “The Gym Gang” on their very generous donation to the boxing club.
Their donation is greatly appreciated by all at the boxing club.
On Saturday next, middleweight boxer Bryan McNamee will box in the final of the IATBA College and University championships in Dublin, good wishes for every success goes to Bryan from all at Raphoe Boxing Club.
There was no joy for Raphoe boxers Rian Patton and Daire Feeney at the Ulster Finals last Sunday in the Clonmany C.C, both boxers lost out to very stiff opposition, as they both turned in impressive performances.
Well done boys from all at the club!

Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC.

Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.
Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop-in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.
We also provide sign posting or referrals to other services. For any further information please call Laura our family support community development worker on 08733350658.
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.

Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs?
Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project where odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc.
Only outdoor work is permitted.

CE Youth Support Worker Position
CE Youth Support Worker position has become available at Raphoe Family Resource Centre. General eligibility is 21 years old and 1 year unemployed.
