Teen Photography Class
Teen photography class starts Tuesday 15th March from 6.30PM – 7.30PM at the Family Resource Centre.
Suitable for 1st year and up. Enjoy the art of photography through demos, printouts and fun filled activities.
Learn about Exposure: ISO shutter speed/aperture, basic camera settings, Composition, lighting/posing & careers in photography.
Participants do not need to bring a camera but they can if they want too!

Paediatric First Aid
Paediatric first aid will take place on the 15th and 22nd of March from 6PM-9:30PM. Cost is €20.00.

SafeTALK
SafeTALK training is a 3hr workshop that prepares individuals to recognise and engage with people who may be having thoughts of suicide and how to connect them to suicide first aid resource.
SafeTALK training will be in the Suile Hall, The Diamond, Raphoe on Tuesday the 10th of May from 7pm-10pm.

Mindful Meditation with Owen Donnelly
Delighted to say Owen Donnelly continues with his Mindful Meditation Class on Monday nights at 6pm via Zoom.
Mindfulness is one strategy that can reduce stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness is a way of being. Practicing mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the moment and accepting those experiences and feelings without judgement.

Self-Care & Relaxation Course – delivered by Julie Voss
New Self-care workshop with the very own ‘Gentle Self Donegal’ beginning March 2022 for 4 weeks.
This programme is face to face and will cover:
- What self-care is?
- Why self-care is important
- Practical ways to incorporate self-care into our everyday lives.
Learn about self-care through practical ideas, relaxation techniques, simple breathing activities, mini self-care treatments, self-kindness, self-compassion and looking at the 5 elements of self-care.

Community Garda Drop in clinic
The community Garda Drop in clinic taking place in the Family Resource Centre on Tuesday the 22nd of March from 6pm to 7pm.
If you need forms/passports signed/stamped or information and guidance feel free to call in. No appointment needed.

Starting back Thursday 3rd February 2022 from 4 – 6PM in the Family Resource Centre and every second Thursday night thereafter.

Little Smiles with Big Dreams Baby & Toddler Group
Baby and toddlers is now back running every Wednesday morning in the Suile Hall from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Light snacks will be provided for the kids and a cup of tea for the adults.
Cost is €2 per family. There are no space restrictions in place. Everyone is welcome,

ALONE
ALONE is an organisation that enables older people to age at home.
I recruit, train and support Volunteers for our Telephone Support and the Visitation and Befriending Service, which is where a volunteer gives an hour a week of their time to provide companionship to an Older Person either in person, or over the phone.
We currently have many older people across Donegal in need of our services.
Would you be willing to provide companionship or be able to make calls to Older People once a week?
ALONE are seeking volunteers all over Donegal.

Raphoe Boxing Club
Yes, it’s once again flat to the mat for the local boxing club with five boxers entered for the N.W. Zones championships that were held in the Oakleaf Club rooms in Derry at the weekend.
Daire Feeney and Ciaran Crawford are both through to the Ulster Finals by means of walk-over.
Rain Patton also goes forward to the Ulster Finals after a very impressive win over John Stokes in the N.W. Zones finals.
There was no joy for Ryley Doherty or Aaron Mc Daid as both lost out to very stiff opposition.
Club boxers and LYIT students Leah Gallen and Bryan Mc Namee are both entered for the IATBA colleges and universities championships that get underway in the National Stadium Dublin on the 26th – 27th and the 4th, 5th and 6th of March.

Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC.

Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.
Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.

Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.

Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs?
Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project where odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc.

CE Youth Support Worker Position
CE Youth Support Worker position has become available at Raphoe Family Resource Centre.
General eligibility is 21 years old and 1 year unemployed.
