Patient services are due to begin at the HSE’s new Primary Care Centre in Donegal Town in the second week of March.
The proposed commencement date for services at the €10m centre is set for Monday 7th March.
The HSE revealed this week that there has been a delay in services being fully operational at the centre due to hold-ups in the delivery of materials and equipment necessary for the safe operation of services.
It is envisaged that the GP Medical Practice, along with some staff from HSE Primary Care, Disability, Mental Health Services, Tusla and National Ambulance Service (NAS) will operate on a full-time basis out of the new Primary Care Centre. Visiting clinicians and specialists from these services will also attend the centre on a routine basis for clinics, multi-disciplinary team meetings and appointments.
In response to queries from local councillor Tom Conaghan to the Regional Health Forum West, the HSE outlined that the centre will provide a single point of access to services for the people of Donegal Town and surrounding area and create a focal point for local health initiatives.
The services that will be provided at Donegal Town Primary Care Centre are as follows;

– Clinical Nursing
