Finn Valley’s Ciara Kearns won gold and Sinead McConnell won bronze at the European Masters Championships in Braga.
Kearns jumped 5.39m in her first jump as she set the bar high in the long jump.
No other athlete could jump further as she won the gold at the European Master Athletics Championships Indoor (EMACI).
Just over 20 years on from representing Ireland at the World Youth Championships in Debrecen in 2001, Kearns got to fly the Irish flag proudly as she beat her competition.
Meanwhile, in the 3km walk race, Sinead McConnell won bronze.
The Castlefinn native clocked in a season best time of 16:05.81 as she finished behind French athletes Boban Valérie and Violaine Bray.
That makes it 3 medals in 2 days for Finn Valley athletes after Noreen Bonner finished 2nd in yesterday’s 8km cross country race.
