LYIT Ladies have reached the semi-finals of the Moynihan Cup after winning 2-4 to 0-7 against Queen’s University Belfast.
LYIT, managed by Donegal senior player Katy Herron, took a dominant lead into the half-time break, as they were 1-2 to no score ahead at The Dub.
Queen’s rallied and were on the verge of a comeback but LYIT held on well to win 2-4 to 0-7.
LYIT will play in the semi-final of the Moynihan Cup in two weeks time.
DCU defeated UL in extra-time and MTU Cork beat UCC by 5-05 to 3-10 to also reach the semi-finals.
The fourth quarter-final game between Mary Immaculate and NUIG was postponed.
