The late Glenties fiddler, Jimmy Campbell, is to be remembered tonight on ‘The Rolling Wave’ on RTE Radio 1.
He died suddenly at his home in ‘The Glen’, Glenties, November 22. He was 84.
The Rolling Wave programme is named after a famous traditional Irish tune and features the best of Irish traditional and folk music.
“Tonight at 9pm – Remembering the great Donegal fiddle player Jimmy Campbell in the company of his friend Caoimhín Mac Aoidh,” a spokesperson for the programme said.

According to the Donegal Fiddle Music website, the late Mr Campbellwas widely regarded not only for his fiddle music, but also for his warm wit and company.
“He is also one of the crucial direct links to the life and music of Mickey and John Doherty, both of whom were regular visitors to the Campbell house at An Teanga Mheáin,” his bio on the website states.
