Kate Keaney has left her role as the Ireland women’s team sport scientist to take up a similar role for world champions USA.
The Donegal Town woman will be based in Chicago at the headquarters of the United States Soccer Federation.
Keaney, who studied sports science at the University of Limerick, had been working with Vera Pauw’s backroom team since 2019 as the representative of StatSports, including during the ongoing World Cup qualifiers, but she’s been lured to the highest ranked nation in the world.
A former county player with Donegal,, Kate comes from a sporting rich family, as her brothers are former Donegal GAA player Luke, and UCD captain Jack.
