A fundraising drive has been launched to help care for 13 badly treated dogs rescued from a breeder.
The Animals in Need Donegal charity took possession of the scared animals (pictured) yesterday.
“Well, we got them,” read a statement on their Facebook page.
“Thirteen scared, smelly, matted dogs, some with sores, mammary tumours, one with missing toes, another with a broken tail.”
“As of today, (they are) officially ex breeders. Little ones, we can’t undo what has happened in your past but we’ll make sure every day from now will be filled with love.”
The vet and grooming bill for dogs is going to be ‘quite costly’, and the charity would really appreciate any donations towards their care.
Anyone who wishes to donate can do so via the Animals in Need Donegal Facebook page.
Note: please don’t message the charity or ring their helpline about rehoming these dogs as they are not available for adoption right now.
