The RNLI has reached out to the community of Arranmore Island following the tragic death of local teenager Daire Conlon.
The 18 year old Leaving Cert student drowned on Monday last and was buried amidst heartbreaking scenes yesterday.
Now the RNLI’s Trauma Risk Management Team ( TRiM ) are holding a get together for anyone affected by Daire’s tragic death, today, Saturday 8th January at 2pm in the Arranmore Community Centre.
This gathering is open to ANYONE in the community wishing to attend.
A spokesperson for the RNLI pleaded for people to please call in and help support each other, and the wider community.
Since August 2016, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has been piloting the Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) programme for its staff and volunteers.
The aims of the programme is to provide a support structure to help cope with the aftermath of traumatic incidents, to deliver effective support to those who need it after such incidents and also to increase the ability to cope with post-traumatic stress.
