Former Donegal Minister and MEP Pat the Cope Gallagher is celebrating a major personal achievement this year after completing over 730 consecutive days of walking.
The Fianna Fáil veteran has revealed that he’s taken over 6 MILLION steps in the past two years, which equates to 4,575 kilometres.
The 73-year-old challenges any doubters to look at his Apple Watch statistics for proof!
The Dungloe man said he has been taking in the scenery of his hometown during his daily walks around the River Walk and Cope Mountain Walk.
And he is inspiring others to follow in his footsteps in 2022.
“It clearly is the best medicine for physical and mental health,” Gallagher told his Facebook followers on St. Stephen’s Day, before doing the 5K memorial walk for the late Mary Ellen Molloy from Ardara.
