A special handmade replica of the world-famous ‘Coca Cola Christmas Truck’ is drawing the crowds to a rural border townland.
Built by local handyman John James Gallen, and ably assisted by his wife Tina, the 16ft x 7ft colourful lorry is situated at the old Meenreagh School and Social Centre, near Killygordon.
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Meenreagh,” a spokesperson for the school committee said.
“A huge thank you to the talented John James and Tina Gallen who created and built our very own Christmas Coca Cola lorry as part of a wonderful Christmas display. Come and have a look as it is sure to bring a smile to your face!”
The lorry is currently on display at the Meenreagh Social Centre, with lights and music on from 4pm to 11.30pm daily.
The centre (Eircode F93CC44) contains a 24 bed hostel and is situated in the rural townland of Meenreagh, around 15km from both Killygordon and Ballybofey, on the Donegal Tyrone border.
Formerly a national school, it is now run by the local community and has been revamped in recent years.
