Mona McSharry secured bronze in the Women’s 100m breaststroke at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi.
The Marlins Swimming Club, Ballyshannon graduate clocked a time of 1:03:92 which was once again an Irish record, beating the record she set yesterday by 0.3 seconds
McSharry started strong and was in the medal positions after 50m but was overtaken in the third quarter.
A quick final 25m saw her just make it into third place ahead of Alia Atkinson.
Qianting Tang of China won with a time of 1:03:47 with Swedens Sophie Hansson was just behind in 1:03:50.
It’s the sixth time at these Championships that the Grange native has broken an Irish record, having done so in the 100m individual medley and the 50m breaststroke
