A man has been released on bail after appearing on alleged rape charges in West Donegal.
The man, who is in his 30s, cannot be named.
The alleged offences took place this year.
Garda Sgt Sean Paul Barrett gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution of the accused under Section 10 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He told Letterkenny District Court that when the charges were put to the man he remained silent.
His solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, agreed for the case to go back to March 21st for the service of a book of evidence.
There was no Garda objection to bail in the case.
