The Cope Dungloe has been named as the All Star Donegal Business of the Year for 2021/2022 by the All-Ireland Business Foundation.
The Cope has established itself as one of Ireland’s leading retailers serving the community in West Donegal for over 115 years. The founder, Paddy the Cope Gallagher, was a visionary before his time and the Co-op as it stands today is testament to the people who have driven its success and sustainability by adapting and embracing change as required by the ever-changing needs of today’s retail consumer.
Mark Sharkey, CEO of The Cope Dungloe, welcomed the All Star Business award and said: “This accreditation is in recognition of the efforts and hard work put in by the Cope team who consistently strive to deliver customer satisfaction through exceeding expectations.”
There was more success this year as the Cope reached the Top 125 of the AIBMS Retail Excellence Store of the Year award, and a top 5 position for New Online Retailer of the Year, this award comes on the back of some significant work on the website to improve the online shopping experience.
And this Christmas, the store is connecting with customers at home and around the world through their heartwarming ad campaing, called ‘Home is where the heart is’
Mr Sharkey added: “It has been a successful year for the Cope, despite current economic uncertainty and we could not have done it without the hard work and dedication of our fantastic team along with continuous support of our loyal customers.”
