Tractors to twinkle at Clonmany Christmas Parade

Farmers of Inishowen and beyond are decking their tractors with Christmas lights in preparation for a very special event this weekend.

The Clonmany Christmas Light-Up Tractor Run takes place this Sunday at 5pm. A parade of tractors will be bringing cheer to the village, all in aid of the Children’s Ward at Letterkenny University Hospital.

The festive feel-good event will also have some amazing prizes up for grabs:

  • The prize for the Best Decorated Tractor is a €50 voucher kindly sponsored by Inishowen Tractors in Carn which can be used towards all your tractor needs in their shop.
  • The prize for Best Dressed Driver will receive a €25 diesel voucher kindly sponsored by DaiGon Renewables.
  • The prize for the tractor which could be seen from space is a €25 diesel voucher also kindly sponsored by DaiGon Renewables.

There’s still plenty of time for those who want to take part!  Tractors can start gathering from 4:30pm in the car park across from Centra in Clonmany and the run will start leaving shortly after 5 o clock, complete the route and park back in the car park afterwards.

This is an outdoor event, and organisers ask drivers and spectators to social distance as much as they can.

There will be live music in the Square Bar afterwards by The Minertones for anyone looking to continue the Christmas celebrations into the night.
