A heartwarming video by The Cope Dungloe is bringing tears to viewers eyes and making people homesick this Christmas period.
The video will hit home to anyone who has moved away from home and missed Christmas with their family, as well as those parents and children who have had their kids or siblings been missing from the dinner table at Christmas time.
The video begins with a mother, Aileen Boyle, messaging her daughter Shauna, who appears to be living across the world, before videoing her other kids playing Gaelic football on a video call. We get our first hint that Shauna is making her way home as a surprise for Aileen when her younger sister quietly teases it away from Aileen.
As the Christmas shopping is being done, locals and friends ask Aileen if Shauna will be home for Christmas, which she gloomly replies ‘no’.
The video then pans to Shauna flying back and meeting her family who all knew of her return. We then see Aileen closing up shop in The Cope only to be greeted by her family who move to the side to reveal the surprise that Shauna has come home before the emotional reaction of Aileen before a hug that would give anyone goosebumps.
The video has been getting a brilliant response on facebook with multiple comments describing the video as a ‘real tearjerker’ and ‘making me homesick’.
