32 students from Colaiste Ailigh in Letterkenny have been having their say on the future of Europe.
They were chosen by Europe Direct Letterkenny to join a Citizens Dialogue event on the work of the EU institutions.
The facilitator of the event was Caitlin Reder, Equality Officer with Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC). She spoke to the students about the Erasmus + and Study Abroad schemes.

This was followed by detailed discussions on the role that Europe plays in migration, the Digital Age, and democracy.
Ciara Cunnane, Manager Europe Direct Letterkenny described the event as a unique opportunity for young people to both learn and contribute to matters that directly affect them.

“Donegal has a direct line to Europe through our information centre here at Central Library and key to our work is engaging citizens in the workings of the European institutions.
“We decided that a Citizens Dialogue event would provide a great opportunity for Transition Year students to join us and engage in a live discussion on what the EU is doing for young people but also what the institutions mean to them.
“We want to thank the brilliant contributions from the TY class at Colaiste Ailigh as well as their teachers for getting involved.”
