A popular south Donegal hotel has announced it is going to open just five days a week, ‘going forward.’
Management of the Highlands Hotel in Glenties confirmed the news last night.
“Unfortunately, we’ve made a very hard decision to close the doors of the hotel on a Monday and Tuesday, going forward, for the next few weeks at-least. We will assess the situation then,” their statement read.
“We absolutely hate to be writing this post but, at the moment, we don’t see any other way forward. We are delighted with all the support you have all shown us since we reopened, and we hope it continues.”
Back in April, famous hostelry was placed on the market at a knockdown price.
The 25-bedroom, three-star hotel on Glenties Main Street was put up for sale by estate agency Lisney.
Offers in excess of €900,000 were being sought.
When the hotel was put up for sale in 2007, a guide price of between €5-€5.5million was tagged.
The three-storey building and a two-storey extension run to around 2,400 m2.
