Rosapenna’s new St.Patrick’s Links has been named 55th in GOLF’s Top 100 courses for 2021.
The course, designed by Tom Doak, was opened just this year and is Ireland’s first new golf course since Marino Point, Cork, in 2009 and the first 18-hole links course since Doonbeg, Clare, opened in 2001.
The St. Patrick’s course was one of 6 courses on the island listed in the top 100, along with Royal County Down (6th), Royal Portrush (15th), Ballybunion (24th), Lahinch (36th) & Portmarnock (53rd).

The course was also one of just 7 new courses to make it into the top 100 and was the highest rated of them all.
GOLF said: “With so many entrenched mainstays in the Top 100 — and nearly 40,000 courses in total worldwide — newcomers to the list are uncommon.
“The (St. Patrick’s) course looks like it has been there for a century, instead of having opened in 2021, which speaks volumes about the routing and the talented shapers that worked the land.”
