Christmas Food Appeal
Supporting local families and individuals in need this Christmas as part of our ongoing food provision.
We are appealing for dry, canned, non-perishable goods or festive treats.
Donations can be left at the Family Resource Centre, St. Michaels Place, Castle Road, William Street, Raphoe.
Men’s Shed
Have a couple of hours to spare? Would like to catch up with other men for a cuppa and a chat. Why not join Raphoe Men’s shed, every Thursday at 11.30AM in the Family Resource Centre. Men of all ages are welcome! In line with government guidelines we would ask all men attending to provide Covid cert and wear a mask.
Breakout Raphoe

Raphoe Boxing club
The Raphoe Boxing Club had three boxers crowned Ulster Nine-County Champions in Derry at the weekend.
They were Rian Patton Boy 3 46KG’s, Rachael Harron Girl 1 55Kg’s and Georgiamea Doherty Girl 2 41Kg’s and Taylor Park won silver in the Boy 1 31Kg’s division. Well done team Raphoe!
Everyone at the Raphoe Club would like to extend good wishes to club coach Gary Mc Cullagh who will once again be part of team Quigley when Jason will fight for the W.B.O. Middleweights crown on November 19th in New Hampshire.

Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.
Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.

Food Packages
If you or your family need food, the FRC distributes food on a fortnightly basis for anyone that needs that extra bit of support.
Raphoe Walking Group
Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.15am, here in the FRC. Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.

Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs?
Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project where odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc.

Christmas Lights Appeal
Calling everyone in our community and district, our schools, churches, individuals, businesses, farming community, community groups, residents groups etc. We need your help and generosity this year please.
The Christmas Lights in Raphoe were kindly funded by the Hugo Charitable Trust this past 3 years.
A sincere thank you to all concerned in the Hugo Trust for this support.
As the funding is now used up the Volt House are starting a go fund me page for donations to help with the costs of putting up, maintaining and taking down the Christmas Lights this year.
The page is up on the Volt House Facebook page. Donations may also be made in person may by calling in to Reception at the Volt House Raphoe.
All donations will be most welcome and will also be acknowledged. Reception is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 1.30pm.
