The number of new dwelling completions in Donegal is down 14% in the third quarter of 2021, new CSO figures show.
Between July and September, 111 dwellings were completed in Donegal compared to 130 in the same period last year.
The new properties include 91 single dwellings, 11 homes in schemes and 9 apartments.
The highest number of completions were in the Glenties and Donegal Local Electoral areas, where 26 new completions were recorded in each. A further 17 new homes were completed in Milford, 15 in Letterkenny, 11 in Buncrana, 10 in Carndonagh and 6 in the Lifford-Stranorlar area.
317 new homes have been completed in Donegal so far this year, compared to 349 new homes in the same period in 2020.
The number of new dwelling completions nationally is down 7.7% in the third quarter of 2021, compared to 2020.
The Central Statistics Office’s (CSO) ‘new dwellings completion’ report shows that only two regions saw an increase in completions from the period last year – Dublin and the Midlands.
Meanwhile, Donegal County Council recorded 2,681 families or individuals on the housing list in March 2021.
