The Family Resource Centre is often the first point of contact in your Community when you need a little help, taking the first step is often the hardest but you will be greeted with a warm welcome, treated with respect and discretion.

We provide computer and internet access, photocopying, CV preparation and weekly employment lists.

Little Smiles with Big Dreams Baby & Toddler Group
We are delighted to be starting back on Wednesday 20th October 2021 10.30 – 11.30AM.
A great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of a similar age.
Light snacks provided for the kids and a cuppa for the adults!

Free Mindful Meditation classes
Mindfulness is one strategy that can reduce the stress of everyday life.
Practicing mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the moment and accepting those experiences and feelings without judgment.
Monday evenings at 6pm via Zoom.

Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.
Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.
We also provide sign posting or referrals to other services. For any further information please call Laura our family support community development worker on 08733350658.
Raphoe Boxing club
The local boxing club will have 3 boxers entered for the forthcoming Ulster Senior Champions, Cathal Mc Laughlin, Orin Mc Dermott and Francie Mc Ginley will weigh –in on Sunday morning in Letterkenny and boxing action will get underway on Tuesday night in the Corpus Christi Boxing Club, Belfast.
The Club is now in full swing after an 18 month lockdown and club coaches Gary Mc Cullagh and Gerard Keaveney are on hand every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights from 6 – 7PM for junior boxers and 7 – 8.30PM for senior boxers and all former and new boxers are welcome.
Food Packages
If you or your family need food, the FRC distributes food on a fortnightly basis for anyone that needs that extra bit of support.
Raphoe Walking Group
Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC.
Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.

Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs?
Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme, has a helping hands project where odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc.

Tidy Towns
The Raphoe Tidy Towns staff are running a Halloween Draw.
Lines €2 each available from any staff member or call into the Volt House. Permit Granted. Thank You.
As we move through autumn and into winter please be careful while walking, jogging, cycling or driving on our roads.
It is important to wear high Vis gear. Be aware also of extra farm and agricultural machinery on our roads too. Be safe, be seen.
Shop Local
As restrictions are to ease by 22nd October due to the Covid 19 pandemic we welcome all our business people back to normal trading and business activities here in Raphoe.
With Christmas around the corner please keep all our local traders and business people in mind and give them our support.
We also welcome all our community groups, schools and churches back to normal activities as well.
Raphoe Christmas lights
Calling everyone in our community and district, our schools, churches, individuals, businesses, farming community, community groups and residents groups. We need your help and generosity this year please.
The Christmas Lights in Raphoe were kindly funded by the Hugo Charitable Trust this past three years.
A sincere thank you to all concerned in the Hugo Trust for this support.
As the funding is now used up, the Volt House are starting a go fund me page for donations to help with the costs of putting up, maintaining and taking down the Christmas Lights this year.
The page is up on the Volt House Facebook page.
Donations may also be made in person may by calling in to Reception at the Volt House Raphoe.
All donations will be most welcome and will also be acknowledged.
