IRISH health chiefs have confirmed that 2,066 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in Ireland.
That follows on from 1,466 cases yesterday.
As of 8am today, the Department of Health say there are 408 patients in hospital with Covid-19. Of those, 69 are in intensive care settings.
At Letterkenny University Hospital there are 16 patients receiving treatment for Covid-19, two of whom are in ICU.
Deaths are being announced weekly due to a data breach of the HSE’s systems in May. In the last week, 26 more deaths have been reported with Ireland’s death toll now from the coronavirus 5,306.
