NAOMH Columba proved much too strong for St Mary’s, Convoy this afternoon to ease their way into the Intermediate quarter-finals.

The home side, wind assisted in the first half built up a 0 -11 to 0-1 half time lead.
Aaron Doherty scored a free and that was followed by a Ryan Gillespie free from the other side.
Paul O’Hare chipped in with the first from play before two more dead ball kicks from Doherty as the home side had a good lead by first water break.
Two more Doherty frees were added before a Joseph McGill free got St Mary’s on the board.
Phillip Doherty then ventured forward for a point from play with Lanty Molloy adding his name to the score sheet..
Further points followed from Aaron Doherty and, as the first half ended,St Mary’s goalkeeper Liam Mailey earned his corn with two good saves.
The second half started with a Caolan Gillen point for St Mary’s, but Ryan Gillespie cancelled that out.
After the second water break Anthony Brown (2) and Peter Blake registered for St Mary’s, but two more Aaron Doherty free ended the scoring.
St Mary’s lost McGill to a second caution in the closing stages.
