A young artist in Dungloe has been left heartbroken after her creation went missing from a popular local walkway.
Niamh O’Donnell, aged 7, is so passionate about arts and crafts that she donates her pieces for the community to enjoy at the Dungloe River Walk.
But the community was shocked this morning to see that Niamh’s ‘Sally the Caterpillar’ has gone missing.
The artwork, made from painted rocks, has been a feature of the walk for the past eight months.
An appeal is underway to get the stones returned and the artwork restored.
A post on the Dungloe River Walk community page said: “Shame on whoever took the stones! In the past also few others kids’s project has been either damaged or disappeared completely. It’s not ok, as the wee kids feels sad and disappointed when they are coming back and their bits of art has been missing.”
“If you will spot any pieces of Sally the caterpillar please bring it to the Ladybug crossing sign. Thank you on behalf of Niamh and her mum. If you see any bits of art on the River Walk made by kids please let it be. Don’t take it away, our wee artists are always coming back to visit their wee projects.”
If you will find Sally’s pieces, please bring it back to the Ladybug crossing sign.
