The Kilmacrennan community enjoyed a family fun day on Sunday- where there was something for everyone to enjoy.
In a return to good old times, the local community came together to watch classic car and tractor runs and take part in competitions and activities. All money raised will be used to further develop the local community through the Kilmacrennan Community Development Group.
Sunday was held in memory of the late Joseph McGettigan, who sadly passed away in a road accident in 2017.
The event was very well-supported, with 75 people running in the in the 10K race, lots of families taking part on a guided walk, children playing a soccer blitz, 47 classic cars in the car run, and 117 tractors on the tractor run. Declan Ferry was the first man back and Eimear Gormley was the first woman across the finish line at the 10K.
A busy beer tent was in operation, alongside a burger van and ice cream van. Special guests included four fabulous Alpacas from the Wild Alpaca Way, who were a big hit with the children.
A spokesperson for the Kilmacrennan Community Development Group said: “Thanks to everyone for turning up to support this great event in memory of the late Joseph McGettigan. We appreciate it so much! “
