A NEW Coolatee Sewerage Scheme has been progressed, it has been confirmed.
The development will involve a new waste water treatment plant and associated Infrastructure.
Porthall-based Donegal County Councillor Gerry Crawford has welcomed the news.
“This will eliminate the discharge of untreated effluent and ensure compliance with national and EU regulations,” he said.
Cllr Crawford says that the problems associated with the existing system have been highlighted in several reports over recent years. This will resolve those concerns.
He said: “Householders in the area have been informed of an online information briefing on September 23 from 4-5pm. More detail should be available then.”
