ANN-Marie McGlynn was sixth this morning in the Antrim Coastal Half Marathon, a race that saw Yalemzerf Yehualaw break the women’s world record.
The Ethiopian clocked 63 minutes and 43 seconds, shaving 19 seconds off the record held by Ruth Chepngetich.
Jemal Yimer won the men’s event in 60:29 as he edged out another Ethiopian Tesfahun Akalnew. Yehualaw’s time cut 57 seconds off her own PB, which she set in Istanbul earlier this year.
Letterkenny AC’s McGlynn finished in 73:12 to come sixth.
McGlynn narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Olympic Games in Tokyo going within four seconds of the qualifying time at the Cheshire Elite Marathon in April.
