Work began this week on a major €1.7million extension of the Abbey Vocational School (AVS) in Donegal town.
The new development consists of six permanent classrooms and a state of the art Autism suite.
The official Turning of the Sod took place in glorious sunshine yesterday with Anne McHugh CE of the Donegal ETB and Principal Geraldine Diver doing the honours.
Local Kelly family (Glebe Builders) won the tender.
