A north Donegal GAA club has appealed to members to get the Covid-19 vaccine in order to curb a surge in cases in the area.
The Downings club made the announcement this morning on their Facebook page.
“In the interest of public safety, we have decided to cease all football activity for the next seven days as we attempt to play our part in suppressing the recent surge of covid cases within our community,” the club statement read.
“We are asking all of our members to follow public health guidelines, and to participate in the vaccine programme.”
The announcement comes on the same morning the County Board confirmed that Covid-19 outbreaks around Donegal were playing havoc with league fixtures.
