All systems are go for the Carickfinn Coastal 10K which takes place this Bank Holiday Monday.
With the race limited to 200 people, anybody considering taking part would need to make up their minds as 130 people have already signed up.
All entrants will receive a medal and refreshments while the first male and female home will receive trophies by John Colm Gillespie GFab Teo.
Cumann Luthchleas an Phointe are organising the event which starts at 10am and aims to help maintain and further develop the Track & Pitch area for the local community.
The route is one of the most scenic and beautiful routes in the country, taking in Carrickfinn Blue Flag beach and surrounding headlands.
Physical and mental well-being is important in these times, Rosses AC & Tir Chonail Rugby Club are our tenant clubs and they provide safe places for the young in our community to meet and engage in supervised training, which benefits their holistic health,
The club’s catchment area is from Falcarragh to Glenties and they have the only 400M running track in that region, encompassing a population of over 35,000, similar to a large town.
Aside from the youth using the track, many members of the community also use it as do tourists and visitors to the area.
The club has upgraded the track and installed lights and a new temporary clubhouse, but there is much more to be done and we would appreciate any help you can provide.
