A status yellow rain and thunderstorm warning has been issued for every county in Ireland today.
Met Eireann is forecasting widespread showers and thunderstorms to strike from 1pm today to 7am tomorrow morning.
The northwest is at highest risk for localised flooding, the forecaster said.
“Some of the showers may merge into longer spells of rain, with the risk of thunder and spot flooding. The showers will become less frequent this evening, with some bright or sunny spells developing,” said the Ulster forecast.
“Showers will gradually die away early tonight, with some clear spells developing. However, cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread from the northwest later in the night.”
