Gardaí are appealing for information on a fire in Letterkenny last night.
A derelict house was extensively damaged in the blaze in the Ard Glass area of Long Lane.
Fire services and gardaí were called to the scene at 8.15pm.
Gardaí say they believe that the fire was started deliberately by youths. Garda Sergeant Charlene Anderson has issued an appeal to parents to speak to their children about safety and the pressure that such call-outs put on the fire service.
Sgt Anderson said: “On this matter we would ask parents to know where their children are at and speak to them surrounding anti-social behaviour. If there is derelict houses in the area, maybe have a conversation with them about not going near them and speak to them regarding fires.”
Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area between 7.30pm and 8.15pm, or who may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
