Letterkenny Golf Club held two competitions last Sunday.
In the Jimmy Breun competition we had three matches at home, unfortunately we lost the two matches away and Malone got that precious one game in Letterkenny to win.
Letterkenny had reached the quarter finals in the competition which was a great achievement for Charlie Coughlin and his team.
We were more fortunate with the Minor League against Greencastle. We had two matches at home and we won those two matches.
We needed one match away which ended up with Jo McManus and Noel Duggan going down the first fairway again having drawn on the 18th.
Noel Duggan secured a good win with a par putt on the first green. Congratulations to Kevin Roche and the team.
Speers Drapery Open Wednesday 7th July
Conall MacAbhaird had a great score of 45 pts to win the competition on wednesday. Liam Rodgers was a close second with 43 pts. and Michael Collum was third with 42 pts. (BOT). Paul Breslin took fourth place.
Highland Motors Renault, Honda, Citroen Saturday 10th July
Tommy Dempsey took first place in the competition with 41 pts. (BOT) . Tommy had an eagle on the 11th, one birdie and eight pars in making up his score. Michael Collum took second place and Charles McHugh took third place with 40 pts. (BOT) .
On Sunday 11th we had Stroke Open Day off the blue tees
Jo Brown was the winner with 66, Greg Magee was second with 57 and Oisin Mc Loughlin was third with 69.
Cat 4 Result on 5th July
Brian Hegarty came in with an excellent score of 23 pts. over 9 holes. Ian Mahony scored 19 pts. and John Rooner also 19 pts.
