A LETTERKENNY man who concealed drugs in his underwear has been fined in court.
On August 30, 2020, Gardaí stopped and searched a car under the Misuse of Drugs Act at Lower Main Street, Letterkenny.
Gardaí located a green plant in tinfoil wrapping and officers arrested Mark Butler.
Butler, of The Woods, Ballymacool, Letterkenny was arrested and conveyed to Letterkenny Garda Station. There, he was searched and Gardai found a similar green plant in tinfoil wrapping concealed in the accused’s underwear.
A subsequent analysis of the plants confirmed that the substance was cannabis, each with a value of €60.
Defence solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher said his client ‘forgot he had it’.
Judge Sandra Murphy fined Butler €150, giving him three months to pay.
