GERARD Ward posted two late frees to rescue a draw for Glenfin at St Mary’s, Convoy.
St Mary’s, Convoy 2-7 Glenfin 0-13
Joe McGill scored a goal in each half as St Mary’s looked set for a win, but Ward – who landed ten points in total – tied things up for Glenfin.

McGill fisted to the net early in the game and it was enough to have St Mary’s 1-5 to 0-7 ahead at half-time.
Glenfin managed to inch in front with Ward and Odhrán McGlynn on the mark, but Paddy Dolan and Conor McDermott responded to give St Mary’s a slender 1-7 to 0-9 advantage at the water break.
A red card for Bryan McNamee looked as if it might tip the scales in Glenfin’s favour. Indeed, Ward fired Glenfin two ahead with ten minutes to go.
However, McGill’s long-range free managed to go all the way to the net and St Mary’s were back in front.
Just when it seemed that St Mary’s would cling on, Ward struck.
